RED ROSE

Stephanie Louise Kinstler explores the construction of appearance, persona and self-representation in her series of self-portraits titled ‘Red Rose’. The series pays homage to the narcissism inherent in the age of the Internet as well as her colourful Eurocentric heritage.

Stephanie is a BA Creative Arts Graduate and qualified Beauty Therapist. She finds herself torn between wilfully embracing a love for homemaking, popular beauty trends and traditional ‘women’s activities’ - and the urge to reject them in ‘modern’ young rebellion. The series 'Red Rose' explores the unavoidable honesty and vulnerability in self-portraiture.
