FABRIC

When creating this work I was inspired by the weave of a fabric I found to draw grids with grey lead pencil. These drawings then developed into an installation using both them and sculptures made of the original fabric. The grids make me think of the fabric of the universe, alternate dimensions and the nets underlying 3D design, whilst at the same time their imperfect lines and the wonky sculptures accompanying them remind me of a whimsical and playful imaginary world. Some of the grid drawings have little blanks spots which give the appearance of holes in the fabric.
