Much of the work in ”Anicca #1” is inspired by a recent trip to Vietnam and is part of an ongoing exploration into place/non-place and transition/flux in urban environments, and how cultural identities influence ones understanding of place.
The works in this exhibition explore the relationships between colour, composition, line and space and also investigate ideas relating to expanded painting practice. That is, paintings are built or constructed to create a spatially ambiguous environ that cannot be realised within a single work.
