FORGETTING

MYRA MCELHINNEY

17 June to 9 July 2016

Forgetting is an exploration of colour, pattern and symmetry in nature as well as man made imagery. It explores the dialogue between abstraction and figuration by blurring the distinction between real and imagined.
This exhibition explores the theme of man’s increasing disconnection with the natural world. The flower motif is used as a metaphor for the fast paced life we live, and our inclination to forget to ‘stop and smell the flowers’.
