WATERCOURSE

“We forget that the water cycle and the life cycle are one”.

Watercourse is a selection of ink on paper drawings inspired by recent visits to local suburban wetlands, and by travels further afield to mountain rivers and lakes.

When sitting and sketching in these environments it is impossible not to be reminded of the complex relationships between the human inhabitants living in such close proximity to these areas and how these waterways succour the flora and fauna that live beside and within these waters.

Water sculpts these landscapes. These drawings are my visual response to the physical landscape that is a result of the water’s actions, and a reflection on the delicate relationship between these waterways, and all those, plant or animal, that rely on these watercourses.
