This series of paintings explores narratives through still life compositions around notions of loss, awkwardness, hope, failure, success and victory. These experiences which are common to us all can often feel quite unique and self-defining.
The objects chosen for each composition have been selected for what they represent and how they interact with each other.
They are the bric-a-brac of stuff I collect, sentimental objects, everyday items and the general accumulations of crafty bits that appear when living with kids. The individual items aren’t particularly out of the ordinary but when juxtaposed together become unique and sometimes seemingly nonsensical.
