MISANTHROPOLOGY
CARAGH BROOKS
18 May to 12 June 2016

Brooks’ work aims to function as a misanthropic critique of contemporary western culture through the use of cartoons, sculpture and text-based works. “Misanthropology: A Scientific Study on a Hatred of Humanity” employs aspects of phrenology, palmistry, pharmacy and medical illustration to draw attention to the artist’s cynical and antisocial attitude.
The work seeks to challenge contemporary behaviours by inviting audiences to laugh and self-reflect.
