FRAGMENT is a new series of works navigating ideas of tradition, mass-production, identity and originality when culture, technology and laws are changing at exponential rates. With current technology scraping personal and creative data, ideas around digital twins, and identity fragmentation are explored.

There sits a tension between the images, where I have augmented basic Ai images and re-rendering them in three dimensions taking on a digitally haunted air, versus the more ‘traditional’ 3D rendered works recalling classical forms and ceramics. The series of plastic molded sculptures are perhaps a meeting point of these two themes. Employing PLA filament (the conventional material used in 3D printing) a simpler silicone mould technique was used to create Corinthian columns, which were then arranged as strange, fragmented recreations.

FRAGMENT conjures cultures ill-equipped to traverse such complex transformations and the cost and detritus of what is left behind.
