THE ARRANGEMENT

The Arrangement is a selection of paintings made during a residency program in Berlin earlier this year. The works are composed with a focus on line, form and elements of architecture in the urban environment. The dedication to providing space on the canvas allows painted forms to continually arrange themselves like objects as each layer of paint dissolves borders and moves the forms towards their absence.

The resolved composition becomes a dichotomy of presence and absence, an abstraction of something glimpsed and remembered and filtered through the hand.
