This series begins to explore the paradox of self-acceptance vs. self-awareness in the face of contemporary culture. To doubt oneself is part of being self-aware, but these doubts can become insecurities, which no longer protect us, but instead hold us back. It is a paradox that we
live with, often without question. My aim though my work, has been to allow my audience to view themselves as art and judge themselves within its parameters; where a lack of conformity, both physically and mentally, is seen as depth and profundity, rather than a lack of beauty or value, and allow them to re-appreciate themselves.
